Japanese Cedar (Cryptomeria)

The Japanese cedar, called Sugi in Japanese, is a coniferous tree which can grow up to 50 m tall in nature. It has a straight trunk, curved dark green needles and dark brown bark which flakes off in vertical stripes on older trees.
